Overview

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor will provides counseling services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for clients experiencing social/behavioral/emotional issues.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with clients seeking outpatient behavioral health services to help facilitate client focused change and resolution of client identified issues.
  • Practice in compliance with the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers Code of Ethics.
  • Respect the privacy and protect the confidentiality of clients.
  • Maintain the boundaries of the professional discipline.
  • Perform assessment of client’s social, behavioral, emotional, and family situation and client’s goals in seeking outpatient behavioral health services.  Document assessment in the client record, including insurance, professional, and department required elements of clinical assessments.
  • Complete and document a multiaxial diagnosis using DSM diagnosis codes.
  • Complete a treatment plan that is individualized and measurable in compliance with the department and regulatory standards.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions using a variety of evidence based treatment modalities and strategies.
  • Accurately document services rendered and complete charge documentation using standard CPT codes.
  • Provide documentation of all client interactions in accordance with hospital, state, federal and regulatory requirements. 
  • Contribute to departmental financial success by maintaining productivity and by following departmental intake, billing, documentation, and evaluation standards. 
  • Participate in professional training and consultation on an ongoing basis.
  • Role models two-way communication of the SCHS mission, vision, values, and strategic plan for the department.

  • Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.  Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the health system’s corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violations of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all company investigations and proceedings.

  • Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate.

Qualifications

Education:  Master’s of Social Work required. 

 

Licensure/Certification/Registration:  Oregon licensure as a clinical social worker (LCSW) required (or the ability to become licensed as an LCSW in Oregon prior to starting employment).  Ability to become credentialed with insurers required (meets all attestation requirements).  Member of the National Association of Social Worker’s  preferred. 

 

Personal Protective Equipment: Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.

 

Experience: Outpatient clinical social work experience preferred.  Experience providing EAP services preferred.

Physical Requirements

Continually (75% or more): Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.

Frequently (50%): Sitting, keyboard operation.

Occasionally (25%): Standing, walking, bending, stooping/kneeling/crouching, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 1-10 pounds, grasping/squeezing, operation of a motor vehicle, ability to hear whispered speech level.

Never (0%): Climbing ladder/step-stool, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 11-50 pounds.

Exposure to Elemental Factors

Occasionally (25%): Chemical solution for Laboratory Caregivers.

Rarely (10%): Wet/slippery area.

Never (0%): Heat, cold, noise, dust, vibration, chemical solution, uneven surface.
